This week I will be sharing three dinosaur cards that I created. When my son was young he loved dinosaurs, and now I have nephews who are fascinated by these same creatures. When I saw the Dino Play Cricut cartridge on sale recently I had to purchase it. I knew that it was filled with images that would be perfect for creating cards for my nephews. If you have never made a card with your Cricut you can check out my beginner tutorial HERE.
I started off by choosing two shades of green cardstock, one teal blue and an off-white to use for the layers on three different dinosaurs that I created. This saved me some time since I could load all of the cardstock onto my Cricut mat at once and then cut the layers for three images.
The teal corrugated cardstock from DCWV added some great texture and depth to this card!
I used a double sided pattern paper for the accent paper. The colors for the patterns on both sides are in the same color family, so I knew that either side would go with the dinosaurs. In my card for tomorrow you will see the pattern on the other side of this paper.
I find that when I want to make several cards if I pull out colors that work together from my cardstock stash, I can combine those same colors in various ways, and this really helps to speed up the card making process.
