Can you use a PDF Image in Cricut Design Space?

Most people would say no, you cannot use a PDF image in Cricut Design Space, but I have figured out a little trick to make it work.

When you are working in Cricut Design Space, have you ever wanted to use an image from a PDF, and tried to upload it and were frustrated because Cricut does not work with the PDF file format.  That is what happened with someone from my Teach Me Cricut Design Space Facebook Group.  She makes doll clothes, and wanted to be able to cut the pattern pieces with Cricut Maker.

She emailed me the PDF file so that I could do this tutorial using the same image she was working with.  If you do not have the Adobe software for making a PDF, SodaPDF could be a good alternative for you to use.

I opened up the image on my computer and took a screen shot of it, and saved that screen shot as a jpeg.  I was then able to load that jpeg image into Design Space to turn it into an image that she could cut.

When I brought the image into Design Space and converted it into a cutting image, I kept the 1″ square guide in the image so that I would be able to use that to help me scale the image up to the right size once I brought it into Design Space.

Here is a video that shows the whole process. If you like this trick, you should check out my YouTube channel! It is full of tips and tricks for using Cricut Design Space.
