Are you looking for a great Valentine’s Day craft project? I want to show you a collection of projects I have made over the years, that would all be perfect for Valentine’s Day, or any time of the year that you want to show someone how much they mean to you!
With all of these project I will link you over to the full step by step tutorial for making each one with your Cricut. Any text that is underlined is a link to another tutorial where I take you through the steps for that project and really help you learn the process of using your Cricut.

Cards are a GREAT Valentine’s Day Craft!
If you have never made a card with your Cricut I recommend starting with a basic card that you can make for FREE using the basic shapes in Cricut Design Space. Then you can take any image that you find in Cricut Design Space and add it to a basic card shape. That is exactly what I did for the cards I made in the images below.
The card can be as simple or as detailed as you want it to be. In all of these cards I used images found in Cricut Design Space. The great thing about using the images already in Design Space is that they are all set up with the different colored layers already applied to them. You just have to make the image the right size to fit on your card and then hit Make It. The Cricut will even sort the different colors on to different cutting mats for you. I show this process in a tutorial specifically about papercraft projects HERE.
A lot of these card projects on my site are pretty old, so this is also showing you how my crafting style has change and improved over the years. I look back at my project photography on some of these early projects and I can see that they are not the best . . . but that shows my growth as a crafter and a blogger.
One thing that has not changed over the years is the adhesive I use to assemble my cards. I love to use a combination of a tape runner that is loaded with double sided tape and my Zig Two Way glue pen. The glue pen allows you to apply the glue exactly where you want it even on the tiniest pieces of cardstock.

I think that this card is an amazing way to take a current trend and use it in your Cricut projects!
Pop up cards are always fun. Did you know that you can make pop up projects in Cricut Design Space? This project will show you how to use the new Subtract function, which is a part of the Combine feature in Cricut Design Space. You can see the video on my YouTube channel HERE.

Slightly More Advanced – Valentine’s Day Craft
After you have made some basic cards, you can move on to more complex Valentine’s Day craft projects like shaped cards or even box cards. For example my family loves Disney, so I have made a lot of Disney inspired cards over the years like the ones below.
Something I want to point out with the two Olaf cards above. These are both a GREAT example of how to make a project work even when you make a mistake. For the card on the left, I smudged ink on his foot. To cover it up, I stamped a little heart there!
For the card on the right I think the paper ripped a little bit. My mat probably needed to be cleaned. To cover that up I used a product called Viva Decor over the spot, and it looked like snow on his foot. To make it look intentional, I added the Viva Decor to a couple of other spots on Olaf.

If you also have some stamps in your crafting supplies, look through them and see if any of the phrases would work well with different images you find. That is what I did with some of the cards here. I used to be on a Design Team for a stamping company. I never really considered myself a stamp person so it was a personal challenge to me to find ways to use the stamps with my papercraft projects.
And if you really want to add some wow factor to your cards, try making a box card! These cards will fold down flat to go into an envelope but look at how amazing they look when they pop open! Valentine’s Day Crafts for the Kids
This is probably the most popular topic about Valentine’s Day crafts. We are always looking for ideas of projects to make with our children or to give to children. One really popular craft are the coloring cards made with the Cricut. You can find templates for these cards in Cricut Design Space, or you can go to my coloring card tutorial and download my free svg file. Then you just have to add your image you want to the card.
By the way, these coloring cards are also great for Easter and Halloween, especially if you are looking to hand out non-candy items.
Another non-candy option is to make these adorable paper heart wands! You can add cute little sayings on them to inspire people and brighten their day. Tara will show you how she made these HERE.
If you are tight on time for putting together your Valentine’s Day craft projects, I do have some great beginner, quick and easy ideas for you also, like these hearts on the stick of a lollipop. This could also be done on a pencil if you are going for a non-candy item to hand out.
If you want to go a little more advanced and learn how to use Slice at the same time, I would recommend you check out my other layered heart papercraft HERE. This is also a great project to use up scraps of cardstock, and I love how the stick of the lollipop just slides through the holes in the heart.

Cake Topper Valentine’s Day Craft
I wish that cake toppers were a trend back when my children were younger. It would have saved me from trying to decorate their cakes with cute images made out of frosting. There was one year that I was practically in tears over how bad my frosting lettering looked on a cake! Cake toppers can be a great way to decorate a full size cake or even cupcakes, like Tara shows us with this easy Valentine’s Day cupcake topper project.
Home Decor Valentine’s Day Craft Projects
If you are looking for some Valentine’s Day craft projects to decorate your home you could make a garland or banner. These can be hung in a window or doorway, or even use them to decorate a shelf. This heart garland was created with a template designed to make a bracelet. This just goes to show that you do not have to use everything for the project it was intended for when making your Valentine’s Day craft projects.
Do you remember a few years back when the rustic burlap look was in style? That is what inspired my burlap heart Valentine’s Day banner pictured below. This would also be fun to make for a bridal shower or rustic wedding. For a wedding you could put the couple’s name on the banner instead of the word LOVE.
This next project is for all of you that LOVE to make things with items you purchase at a dollar store! I picked up this wooden heart shape with the twine already attached to it at my local dollar store. Next I painted it with a pretty color of purple paint that I already had at home, but you could also pick that up at the dollar store. Last I cut some holographic vinyl to add to the heart. That is the only thing that I did not get at the dollar store! This was a very inexpensive Valentine’s Day craft, and I have the full tutorial for you HERE.
Gift Giving Valentine’s Day Craft Projects
Have you used the Cricut pens to draw on things, like gift bags, with your Cricut? If not, this is a perfect time to try that out! Pick up some plain, matte finished gift bags, grab your Cricut pens and follow THIS tutorial HERE. Then you can draw something like a heart on a gift bag for the perfect way to give a special gift.
If you need a slightly larger bag for you gift, why not make a reusable bag. Then the bag is actually part of the gift you are giving. My friend, and fellow blogger Tara made this brightly colored heart bag using Infusible Ink and then layering HTV over the top.

A really popular gift idea that you can make with your Cricut are the Spotify Glass Art projects! My daughter and I did these for her friends for Christmas, but this would also be a great Valentine’s Day craft if you use a special song. For a wedding gift, you could use the song that the couple used for their First Dance.
Have you tried making a layered mandala project? If not, I would suggest to start with one like the Heart Mandal from Tara! This simple heart has just a few layers to add some depth and interest to the project. I also love how Tara paired it with the flowers in the shadow box. Painted canvas art is another great gift idea. I created this one out of dried flowers from our trip to Hawaii years ago. I used my Cricut to not only cut the word Ohana, but also to cut the heart shape out of a removable vinyl. That way I had a heart outline I could follow along with, but easily remove it when I was done with the project.
This again would be a great project to use flowers from a wedding in order to save a special item from that special day. If you do not have dried flowers, you could create this same project idea using rolled paper flowers.
